Ben Franklin

To end our Famous Americans unit, we finished up with Ben Franklin.  Enjoy our projects.  Once again some students made kites full of facts and did not present on video.

Abraham Lincoln Projects

We learned a lot about our 16th president!  We learned he taught himself how to read and that he helped end slavery during the Civil War.  Check out our presentations!  Not all students did presentations as they made ABC books instead.  Enjoy :)

George Washington Projects

The students worked hard for about a week on their George Washington projects.  If we had indoor recess, they begged to work on their projects and they got upset when I told them our social studies time for the day was over.  They loved learning about George Washington and finding out more information about our first president as they put together their projects.  I offer less and less help as they get better at researching and creating their presentations.  They did a wonderful job and I am so proud of them.  Enjoy their presentations and I hope you learn something new about George Washington.

Enjoy!

The Sun, Earth and Moon Presentations

The students worked really hard on their sun, earth and moon projects. We learned that the Sun gives the Earth heat! We also learned that the Earth rotates on its axis, which give us day and night. As the Earth rotates, it also revolves around the sun, giving us our yearly seasons. Finally, we learned that the moon revolves around the Earth, but does not rotate. Wow! We learned a lot more than a first grader really needs to know!
